This is a new one on me so someone please tell me if its normal for this year. My 94 S-10 ext truck, 99 blazer and 00 Jimmy didn't.

The key-in buzzer stays on when the key is switched to accy or is running. Only the door being closed shuts it off. I don't have an owners manual for this one so if there is a way to disable this, I don't know it. Its annoying and needs to stop. Please help before I break something.

I tried the same procedure I've done on the 99 and 00 to determine if there is keyless (no on 99, yes on 00) and it doesn't respond, but I was told it had fobs at one time. I looked and there is a KRE module under the driver's-side dash. Is this some different module I'll need to take to the dealer to have a fob programmed or can I still get a fob and do it myself...? I read somewhere a procedure using the ALDL, but I am not sure if it applied to what I want to do.

I have a 97 Blazer LT. I get the tone when the driver door is open and the key is in the ignition, whether it is off, accessory, or on.

 

Well then....that's dumb. First vehicle I recall owning that acted this way. Makes working on it and such quite irritating. Looks like I'll be deleting the buzzer for the sake of my limited sanity.
