'97 blazer fuel pump
New here guys.
I have a 97 chevy blazer that I can not seem to get it running right. I have replaced the fuel pump but it still wont run. I was told I am not getting enought pressure to it or something like that. But I know its the pump that is bad. I have used after market ones and they will not start the truck. Can someone please help me here.

RE: '97 blazer fuel pump
[sm=welcomesign.gif]to the Forum, Gordon. First suggestion, create a 'signature' for your posts containing the important info about your truck (see mine below as an example). Now to the problem - if you have not done so, do a pressure test of the fuel system by connecting a fuel pressure gauge to the schraeder valve on the inlet line at the top rear of the engine. Turn the key to 'on' and see if the reading is ~55-62 psi. Turn the key off and see if the pressure drops more than ~2-3 psi. If the first reading is lower than specified, you probably have a bad pump and if the second is too low, you may have a bad fuel pressure regulator. After these checks, please repost and we will go from there with further checks and/or repairs.
