97 chevy blazer wont start
alright heres the deal. i went threw a creek today. and water went everywhere (let me mind you it was flooding). the motor dies. i go to try and restart it and it just clicks like the motor is locked up. so i let it sit there a little while. i get out make a call. my dad says you got everything wet let it dry. so i did. come to find out in all this my battery went dead/bad..i pull it out take it to town. and it has a bad sell. i buy a new one take it out there. and now the truck cranks and trys to start and wont. so i took the intake/breather off. and the air filter is solid water. and prolly 12-14 oz of water dump out of the intake. i was ticked. so now im at home drying all that out. and waiting. any outher ideas what could cause it not to start if it doesnt?
thanks

It wouldn't crank if it was hydrolocked. You might have pulled some water into the cylinders, but if you aren't hearing any nasty noises, I doubt it did any damage. I would change all of the oils (engine and drive axles). Also, pull the plugs and turn it over for a bit to clear out anything that may still be in the cylinders.
Once you get it good and dried out, you'll have better luck at getting it started.

not really what i wanted to hear. i am thinking now after going and looking at it a little bit that i got water up into the distribter cap...but i dont have the tools to take it off. so i have to try and find some tools tommaro and do that and see what i got. it trys to start. it spits for about 5 sec. and then dies....i know i have fuel, and i know i have spark @ the coil. not sure anywhere else...

I did the same thing a few days ago. Definitely not to the extent of yours...but it locked the motor none the less. I'd say pull the plugs to be safe (I did)...change them while you're at it...also dry out all the intake parts and the filter. Water doesn't compress so if you turn the engine over with water in the cylinders, it will seep through the piston rings...so change the oil, too. A good rule of thumb for the next time you take the blazer swimming...if you look out the window and see fish, cut the engine and have someone pull you out.

A really good procedure (which I used) to change the #3 spark plug is:
