Default 97 OverHall

I just picked up a 97 blazer in great shape 300 bucks. No rust on body or frame. Needs some motor work done. Just wondering If theres a good rebuild kit someone knows of. And the years I can swap out the motor for one with the same plugs and stuff. Thanks for the help

As far as an all inclusive rebuild kit goes, Summit & Federal Mogul have a kit #205-6505M000 that has rings, rod/main bearings, all gaskets, and a new oil pump for $230 provided that all of your bores/journals are good at stock size and do not need to be cut.

$300? nice... In my opinion, you can simply buy a rebuilt long block from a reputable engine builder easier and cheaper. A used engine from a wrecking yard even cheaper than that.

I work at a auto parts store and I could spend $1400 on a rebuilt long block with a warrenty. I'm trying to do this on the cheap, so I'm in the hunt for a good junk yard motor.
