Alright, did a little resurche still new hear may not have found everything though. my wifes blazer was running cool so changed thermostate. temp was good. then right after added a JDM air intake. drove it 20 miles that night ran like a champ. next moring took off and the trans would shift hard and hold high rpms threw a SES code of P1870. the blazer is a 97 4x4 4dr, with the 4.3. dont understand why it would run like a champ then go to s*** the next morning? any Ideas? Thanks!

 

I don't know how a thermostat or an air intake could cause a p1870 code.
That code indicates a torque converter clutch slipping or a trans internal failure. Is your trans fluid low?

alright the blazer ant been doing it now dont know what the problem was so i took it to a machanice he said changen the plate in the trans ant going to do much for it he said everything looked great in it. filters clean and fluid is to. the light went back out before i took it to him so he searched the history and found the code but there ant much else to do to it. he said the trans looked like it had that bulliten performed on it already so no sense in doing it again. im good with that sense its worken right and all but dang that was weird anyone know if this is a common problem or not. thanks.
