trans acting funny
ok let me start by saying sorry. I'm sure this question has been answered a million times, but I guess im not googling it right. So here it is
trucks cranks and then shifts into gear fine. I take off at normal speed and truck usually shifts into second. then all of the sudden it just feels like its in neutral and will free rev depending on how much gas i give it. turn it off let it sit a bit and it will do the same thing over again. I was told it was a module in the tranny most likely the issue (which one and what locfation). I bought a trans from a yard with 100k on it and if i can get away with swapping a few parst in the pan without doing a swap that would be great. or is it the pump and i gotta do the swap?

thanks in advance

ok so after a little reading we went and checked the pump to make sure it was not out. let the truck run for about ten mins and then unhooked one of the lines from the stand alone trans cooler the pump definatly has pressure. filled it back up to propper level cranked it back up and let it run for a few mins and it would not go into drive or reverse. turned the truck off let it sit for 1 min recranked and it would go into rev and drive fine. did not drive it though cause we didnt want to walk back home. no grinding sound and clutch seems to working. I checked the atc fuse under the hood and it was not blown.
