Default 98 blazer AC problem

I have a 98 blazer LT 4x4 which I bought about 6 months ago with the ac not working. It just blows hot air like the heat is on. Today I put a new compressor and orifice tube in and completely recharged the system. Still nothing but heat blowing. The compressor turns on like it should, the accumulator gets so cold there's condensation on it and the suction line is cold all the way to the compressor. The truck has "computer climate control" or so it says on the hvac controls. Is this something electrical or what? Any advice before I take it somewhere and get bent over? Thanks in advance.

Your blend door is stuck open/broken, or your blend door actuator motor is not working/gear broken. This door controls the amount of heat allowed to flow through the HVAC box inside. Or, your sensor is bad or it needs to relearn the correct settings. Do a search in this forum and you will find a lot of information about this problem. Good luck.

I can hear what sounds like a "clunk" when turning the ac on/off. I assume that's the door. I've tried searching. What specifically should I search for?

"blend+door+actuator" should turn up the relevant results.

The actuator itself is an electronic actuator and is located on top of the HVAC housing. Small hands and some creative use of tools will allow for removal by only dropping the glove box door out of the way. Without both of these, the dash would have to be removed which is a pain for the first time...

If my advice hit the mark, it was the blend door actuator. Running the search I suggested & reading through the results that pop up will confirm that for you.
