Default 98 blazer, oil and water mixed...

Ok guys, this is my first time at a project of this caliber. So any help, cmments, or advice would go a long way and would be greatly appreciated. I have a 1998 chevy s-10 blazer in which the engine died on the road. It overheated. Got the truck home and checked fluids. Radiator was bone dry, and when I checked the oil, that's where all the coolant was!! So I am in the process of trying to pull the engine. Is it worth rebuilding or just get another?

IMO that would depend on how many miles it had before the meltdown and how far it was driven while it was overheating. Large amounts of coolant in the oil generally means a boat load of damage.

To me if you are taking it out anyway I would pull the heads off and look at the cylinders and pull the oil pan off to inspect the bottom end. You may get lucky.
