98 jimmy 4wd how it works

Default 98 jimmy 4wd how it works

i have a 98 jimmy 4.3 push button 4wd and when its in 4wd only the front right wheel will spin the driver side wont kick in even if im spinning is this how it is suppose to work? is there like a locker or something i need to install to get both wheels to turn or do i have a problem wit my 4wd that needs fixing dont really know much about it. thanks for any help you mite be able to give me.

IF you install a locker your going to have a hell of a time turning on anything other then snow/sand. Also sounds like your 4wd is working fine, that is one of the disadvantages of a open differential.

Normal.... the wheel with the least traction gets the power.

thanks for the info believe ill just leave it be then im looking to lift mine a lil about two inches higher than factory setting will i be able to get 31 10 50s on it with out no rubbing if i do thanks
