99 blazer 4dr 4x4 brake light issue

Default 99 blazer 4dr 4x4 brake light issue

i have 99 blazer with left rear brake light don't work.

replaced both bulbs
hazard lights works
left turn signal works

right side everything works fine

could it be in the steering column?

Yes, most likely the multifunction switch, (turn signal switch).

Shake the turn signal know while you step on the brake pedal and see if the brake light starts working. I had the same problem and it was the turn signal assembly.

I got a new multi function switch and installed it last Saturday and it solved the problem with the brake light.
