Default '99 Blazer AC does not engage

AC clutch that drive compressor does not engage, so, no compressor action.

Why?

Could be a number of things... Have you checked all of the fuses?

Can you get it to run by placing a jumper wire across the terminals on the low pressure switch located in the filter/dryer canister on the passenger side of the engine near the firewall? If the compressor will engage with a jumper wire in place, the low pressure cutout switch might be faulty or the system pressure may be too low. You really should get a set of gauges on it and check the pressure before going too much further or you could damage the system even more.
