Default 99 Blazer steering wheel problems??

My problem is mostly noticeable on the highway. The steering wheel has a lot of play if i turn it to the right and feel very loose, and when i turn it left it has very little play and is tight. When i do move the steering wheel it doest go back to the original position and sometimes the steering wheel will start to shake. The vehicle doesnt seem to have bad alignment. Maybe it just needs to be balanced to fix the shaking problem but i am kinda worried about the steering wheel part. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks

I would inspect the steering components looking for play. Have a good look at the pitman and idler arms. A bad idler arm can cause symptoms similar to what you describe.

I recently had the pitman and idler arms replaced. Could it be the tie rod ends? They are part of the steering components.
