Default 99 Blazer won't start, runs fine

I have a 1999 Blazer with 4.3l engine. Lately it's been having trouble starting. It will crank but will not start, but with a quick spray of starting fluid it starts and runs perfectly. I've been starting it with this method and driving it for about a week now, and I noticed that if the engine has not been off for very long, it will start fine without any starting fluid. I usually only have problems starting it in the morning and after that, it starts throughout the day.

I'd really appreciate any suggestions on what could be causing this problem. I've checked the throttle position sensor and the ignition control module after learning that they were somehow related to the starting fuel pulse. Both were fine, so I'm trying to figure out where to go next.

thanks

Have you changed the fuel filter lately?

You will need to do a fuel leak down described here.

Okay I used a fuel pressure test gauge and found out when the engine has been sitting for a while and won't start, pressure with the key on is about 40 psi. While running, fuel pressure looks like its about 52 psi, immediately after i turn the car off, with the ignition on the pressure is almost 60 psi. while its at 60 psi the car starts.

Neither of the threads posted seemed to have any solutions to the problem. I know that my fuel pressure leaks down over time now but i have no idea why or what to test.

OK at this point your truck will positively not start with those fuel pressures.
The next step is to try to determine if its the pump or injectors, isolating the problem so you don't go bankrupt.
What you need to do now is go to the Blazer Forum homepage and in the goggle box type in "isolate fuel pump". Don't use the search function the goggle function in the homepage does it much better, then start reading. In there you will find detailed info on how to tell were to go next.
Trust me there are write ups there that will explain it far more clearly and quicker then I can.
Come back with questions.
