99 Bravada Gremlins
hi I'm a newbie and a new owner of a 99 Bravada. I've read everything about my intake gaskets encoder Motors atc's 136 fuel gauge dancing and Hazard switch failures. when I have not seen is driver heated, chromatic mirrors burning and delaminating into a double vision. can I replace the glass itself or do I have to replace the entire housing?

I had my driver's side crack in a hail storm. I popped the glass off, unplugged the wires, and swapped the new one in.
Your 99 will have slightly different mirrors, but I'm sure that's all your need to do. At least it's a start!

that sounds good thanks is it just a retaining clip in the center of the mirror? I can't really make it worse cuz I can't really see out of it now LOL see how Amber it is. from inside the truck it actually looks delaminated and double vision as well
Yeah, there's a clip or two behind. Use a flathead screwdriver/putty knife and slowly work around the inside edge, gently prying up. Should be two wires connected via crimps. Wiggle them slowly back and forth and they should just slide off.
thank you good sir I'll keep you posted
edit: I actually managed to get the outer lens off because it broke. there is some sort of plastic trim ring holding the two laminates together that I was trying to carefully pry off with my screwdriver.I also managed to break the top corner of the rest of the glass. but in the process I think I cleaned off all the liquid chromatic Goo that was burned between the glass panes. so now my mirror is still in place cleaner, visible, and top Corner cracked LOL. it probably won't chromatize anymore but I don't care. I did not however successfully get the mirror to pull away from the housing. it appears that trying to take it off will break it, so I hope that putting a new one on won't break on installation.
