99 rear brakes
#4
like warthog said, you have to do both sides in the rear. they are fed by 1 brake line. if you disturb one side, you have to do both. you need to get the air out of the system. i would suggest putting the car up in the air, on 4 jack stands. take off the front brakes and compress the calipers. then i would suck out all the brake fluid in the reservoir and then start over. put a new set of pads on the front and put them back on. fill the reservoir and then bleed the rears and make sure that you dont let it get too low otherwise you will be there for a while. then put the old set of pads back on the front, if they are still good and continue on with life. you can always keep them for later, or return them and just tell then you bought the wrong ones by accident or something.
the reason i say to put a new set of pads on the front is because if you use your old set to keep the reservoir up, when you go to do a front brake job, you will compress the caliper then and have a huge mess on your hands. just my .02
