Abs brakes
The first thing is to do a proper diagnosis.
Have the brakes been worked on lately? Have you inspected them? Have they been bleed recently? Have you noticed any loss of brake fluid? Have you had the error codes read?
Even with the ABS system disabled, you should still be able to stop. The only difference is that you would be able to lock up the brakes instead of them pulsating.
An example of an issue that could cause an ABS light to come on is a brake in the circuit that monitors the wheel speed sensors.
Perhaps others can make other suggestions too.
