Hi, Im willing to change brake fluid, but my truck have ABS. Is there any method to remove the old brake fluid from the modulator?. I don't have a scan tool. In some internet places says to flush all system, go around and push brake hard enough to activate ABS a couple of times and the change all brake fluid again.
Is right or I really still need the scan tool?.

More info is needed! First search this site, most answers are here! But you will require the ABS scan module! Why do you need to change the fluid? Contamination, soft pedal,ABS light or just maintenance(smart!) There are too many variables! Try not to just take care of symptoms,go after the real problem! Best to you!

Hi there, thanks for you answer. I already look inside forum and internet sites, and it seams that the flushing of all lines but the ABS modulator is equivalent to normal brakes. I was thinking to send it to a brakes shop, but I really doesn't trust in shops here in Chile, I had have too bad experiences (worst of then with Chevrolet dealers) and I try to do most things by myself.
The reason to change it is that the fluid have a bad color (dark green spots). The brakes works fine and strong, but I don't want to have any problems in the near future. I'm planning to do this in two or three months ahead (with the brake pad and ball joints replacement), soIi have some time to try to get the ABS Scan Tools or find a good brakes shop.
Best regards to everyone!

youre probably just better off doing the pump and bleed method at all 4 corners of the car. have someone pump the brakes a few times, hold the pedal down the open the bleeders, let the fluid spray out then tighten it down and repeat. i do so many brake lines at work and you can usually tell when all the fluid has gone through due the fluid coming out clean.
