ABS light
Hi everyone, just bought a 1996 4door blazer. the ABS light is lit all the time. Not familiar with ABS systems but am very knowledgeable with cars and motorcycles. I have gotten a chiltons manual already. I am wondering if you all have suggestions to troubleshoot the abs system.

Don't think anyone makes a cheap ABS scanner, so I took my 95 to the dealer for ABS scan. Tech found a code which said the control unit could not communicate with the left front wheel sensor so he cleaned and lubed all electrical connectors in that circuit which solve the problem until he road tested the car and the light came back on. He says the next step is to replace the control unit ($238) and then he must program it. I opted to put a small piece of black electrical tape over the dash light as the brakes work fine and I hate ABS anyway. I mean, how can you lock the wheels for really fun slides with the ABS working?
