Default ABS Sensor...Do I need it?

Just received a new front hub for my 99 Blazer LT 4wd. I did not come with a new abs sensor. Sensor was pictured with the hub, but did not come with it... Do I need a new sensor, or can I reuse the old one??
Shop wants $250.00 part & labor. I paid $78.00 for the hub.
I'm 79 years old, and pretty much worn out, but I can't afford the shop $'s, so I'm going to give it whiz!!! Just don't want to tear it down; then find I need the sensor; with no way to go get it.
Thanks

If the sensor isn't damaged reuse it. I reused mine with no problems - however my new hubs were around $120.00 apiece - the cheaper hub at about the $70 to $80 range was the one without the magnitic ring so make sure new hub looks like the old one - luck to you

You should also make sure that you received a hub for the 1998 and newer trucks, and not the 97 and older. The 97 and older trucks used a hub where the hub has visible external teeth for the sensor, and the sensor is part of the dust shield, and came separately. The 98 and newer hubs have an internal sensor and no visible teeth. The sensor is removeable, but normally is purchased as part of the hub.

Sorry if my description is not very clear. I'll try and find pictures to clarify for you.

EDIT***

Here's a picture of a 97 and older hub:

And a 98 and newer:

They're very similar, but you should be able to see that the newer style hub does not have teeth behind the mounting plate where the wheel studs are. If you did get a 98 and newer hub without a sensor there should be a small hole where the sensor mounts and you should be able to see the teeth inside the hole.

Problem solved... Item miss marked & seller sending correct part today. Part received was for 1997.
Thanks El_Beautor.

Thanks. A while back I did some research on what it would take to use the newer style hubs on my older style Blazer, so I got familiar with the differences. I actually have the spindles and brake parts for when I need to replace my hubs so I can go with the newer hubs and larger dual piston brake calipers.

Great idea to update the brakes. The factory brakes are a bit lacking on the early 2nd gens.
