Question AC always on

Hello all, thanks in advance for your help.

I have a 2005 Blazer 2 door. Manual climate control.

For a while now I have been noticing water drip from under my car, even when the selector is NOT on AC. I did some tests and sure enough, the air is way too cold, even when the heat selector is on full hot. I pulled the AC fuse from the engine fuse box, and that helped, hot is now hot, and cold is cold (but not AC cold). Any ideas about what could be keeping the AC on?
  • Can confirm that the mode selector works well - defrost, feet, feet/head, head, etc all do what they're supposed to.
  • Can confirm that the heat selector is working. Cold is cold, hot is hot... as long as the AC fuse is pulled out.
  • And the blower speed selector is OK too.. steps up nicely from 1->4

While I figure out the issue.. is it safe for me to drive with the AC fuse removed?

Thanks!

on most cars the a/c runs when you have it set to defrost. but if it does it on other settings then yeah something is wrong.

on my truck i just unplug the a/c compressor every winter as im sick of it running with defrost on. but yeah as long as nothing else is attached to that fuse you need you can just leave it out
