I bought a well used 2001 S10. The ac does not work. I had a friend charge it and still no cooling. Compressor clutch works normal. Changed the filter / dryer and orfice tube, had it pumped down, recharged and still no cooling. Parked it and went to work overseas. Now I'm going back soon so I had my sister take it to a shop for an estimate, guy wants to replace compressor, evap core, estimate was more than truck cost.

1. How do I check to see if the evap core is plugged?

2. How do I know if compressor is not pumping?

The system has not leaked since new recharge but will not cool.
