Ac problems? Please help?
Hi,
After searching around, I can't seem to find an answer, so hopefully someone can help me.
I recently purchased a 99 bravada, which had a bad blend door actuator. As a temporary fix, I pulled it out, and set it to the "Cool/ac position". However, my ac is just not cold. I have checked the low pressure, and I can see that at 15psi, the clutch engages and shuts off around 55 psi. The compressor clutch does not engage below 35psi (I had it at a shop and they tried to evacuate some), so they told me basically that I am not low on refrigerant. However, I am not sure if I am too high either.
Anybody have specs as to what psi the compressor clutch should engage/disengage? Also, I noticed that the ac lines as well as the accumulator are HOT! I'm pretty sure this isn't good--any ideas? My ac will sometimes get cold when driving for a while, but not as cold as it should be?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Also, auto controls. NOTICED EARLIER THAT COMPRESSOR CLUTCH WAS NOT ENGAGING---Pulled and re-plugged ac cutout switch on accumulator, now it engages but temp is the same either way? Would this cause some problem here?
Thanks,
James
