Default Acceleration and power issue

Have some trubble, the truck feels weak...

Bad acceleration and can't keep up speed uphill. Doing 80km/h (on flat highway) and then presses the accelerator to the floor. Transmission shifts down and engine revs to 4000 but no acceleration! Does not shift up until the acc. is released. With a more gentle press on the acc. it accelerates slowly.
There is a whining noise when in drive or reverse but not in park or neutral, possibly torque converter(?)
After doing this kickdown thing the SESlight comes on with a O2 code, and it goes off after some time "normal" driving...

All this started after a tune up at the shop, they did change plugs, air and fuel filters, engine oil, ATF in tranny, oils in diffs and transfer case.
They told me the O2 sensor probably was the cause of the problems so they put in a new, but it did no good.

My question is: Is this a tranny problem or a engine problem?

ATF level in tranny is OK.
Have not checked fuel pressure due to lack of manometer...

What do you think?

/F

Some vehicle info would help, but it is possible that the fuel filter is faulty or installed backwards. Also if the truck is old enough, it is possible that they set the timing wrong. Korey

I would take it to a trany shop and have them run test. It might be the TCC in the trany, or another electronic part.

But I would get it checked before the trany gives out.

So how do I check the TCC?
(I do not have a scanner)

With it reving up to 4k with no power output, I would say that would be trany slipping.

Take it to a trany shop and have them do a check on it.
Could be anything from the Kick down cable (some still have the rod linkage), bad filter, clutch packs going out, band clutch, ect.. there are too many IF's on why a trany would act like that.
Again have a trany shop check it out

What about your catalytic converter? Have you had that changed? Is your acceleration good until 80 km/h and then goes to $*it? I mean truthfully, I would start with themore simpleaffordable possibilities before looking to tear into the tranny. I would imagine that if your catalyst were bad it could possibly send a bad mixture past your o2 sensor????just aNI idea[sm=signs003.gif] DAMN I NEED TO CHECK THE DATES ON THESE THINGS BEFORE REPLY!![sm=badbadbad.gif]
