Default aftermarket temp gauge install

ok i searched around, and i have a general idea of where i am gonna place the sensor for a temp gauge....but i noticed this point as well coming out of the thermostat neck...

would that work as well? i just think it would be easier/better then teeing off the factory sending unit.

thanks guys...
