Default Airbag disconnect

I am replacing my hazard switch tommorow.I had the whole assembly apart last weekend, horn honking and all!
But is the SIR system really a neccessary step,or is it just a way to idiot proof the procedure?

Damn man, have some patience... We all have lives outside of the forum.

Unless you like the thought of having your airbag pop in your face, you should disable the SIR system. The likelihood of it happening is slim, but the effects can be devastating if it does happen. One slip near those wires can cause it to go off unexpectedly.
