a leaking t-case input seal to replace that $5 part will lead to other problems, depending on how long you let it go. If you lose too much tranny fluid, you could be looking at a tranny rebuild, now we are getting into some coin.

VERy helpful Hanr!
I was wondering where the hell all my fluid was leaking, parking on fresh snow with no red culprit fluids, drove to shop(about 35miles) and the shop Mechaniclayed the $2800 rebuild bomb on me! Should be back Monday.

Curious: How hard is a tranny to change?

As for that black bootle on the hood..Dam, i have not looked at that since last year!!

We had some of those black vacuum ***** in our shop as a discontinued part so I grabbed one and threw it on. The idle is alot better but none of the other problems have improved, well the heat blows a little harder.

THATS ANOTHER THING...I start the car and it wont blow out any air at all from the vents, but after it runs for awhile it will start to blow. So it cant be the blower motor.

our vacuum hoses are in good working order. Teh vents are also controlled by vacuum.

How hard to replace a tranny? Read this and decide for yourself.
I rate it about a 7 on a 1-10 scale. Rebuilding it once its out would be a 10. However, my scale and yours are different and based on our expierience.

The heater/AC vents are also controlled by vacuum??? Wow. I better check ALL my lines. As far as replacing the transmission, no way!!! Too much work and too much money. Long as this thing makes it another 2 1/2 months I'm good. Then I'll sell it for dirt cheap

Friday night she took a big dump. Cruising along at 45 when the SES light popped on and the whole car started sputtering. Acceleration decreased and even with the pedal to the floor I only got her up to 55. Shakes real bad too. It's at the shop right now awaiting diagnoses. The engine only has 60,000 miles. My bro had this since 2001 and it's been problem after problem...major problems too. Is there a certain model or year or something that is notorious? I find it strange that this vehicle has been such trouble.
