Default Alternator Interchange

I need to know if an alternator for an '01 s-10 4.3l will fit a '98 bravada. The part numbers don't exactly match up but the person that is selling it says the only difference should be the connector location. Your thoughts? Its a re-manufactured AC delco alty for a steal so I'd like to jump on it if it will work. Thank you!!

My guess is no. 1998 uses an internal voltage regulator, on 2001 the alternator is controlled by PWM from the PCM.

You could only use up to 2000 on the altenator.
