Another - Blazer no start
I spent many hours going through historical posts and found lots of info - However, not quite the same.
My daughter was driving the 2000 Blazer and the engine stopped unexpectedly.
The engine cranked but would not restart. When cranking, there were a few times where it tried to fire but it was like the timing was way off and the stalled the cranking for a second.
Towed it to the house, battery was about drained.
Charged over night.
Cranked just fine in the AM but not even a hint of firing.
Very limited troubleshooting so far:
Strong spark on cylinder #1
Ignition key lock is shot - going for a new one in the AM.
I do not have a reader to get codes.
I plan on following the 'Cranks but no start' guide in the morning after I replace the starter key lock.
A couple of questions that I've not found answers for:
I planned on replacing only the started key lock not the starter switch & harness - does that make sense?
How does the passlock work - Does it disable the spark or the injector? Both? Neither?
I saw on one of the pages that the fuel pressure can be measured at a port somewhere - not sure where or do I disconnect the fuel filter and attach the fuel pressure gauge there?
Thanks.

the fuel pressure schrader is located back of intake manifold toward driver side. you'll see where two lines go into the plenum.
do you hear the fuel pump run for two seconds when you turn the key on? In all FI cars, that's the prime. If fuel pump doesnt run it wont start

Yes - the fuel pump kicks on.
Perhaps it was dorky (), but I loosened the fuel filter and when the key was turned, the pump kicks on and LOTS of fuel came out.

Check the fuel pressure at the intake...if not high enough the injector will not function.
Also check that all electrical connectors are mated on top and bottom of engine....like the crankshaft sensor connector and so on.

Thanks. I could not get to it today but will tomorrow and let you know what I find.
