I just had to replace my fuel pump because it wasn't working but now my fuel gauge dont work. When I turn the key the gauge jumps to full then stays on E for the remainder of the time that the ignition is on I've read that I may need to replace the wire connector that goes to the sending unit, the old wires plugged right up so i didnt think of it, do I have to replace the connecter in order for the aftermarket fuel pump to tell me how much gas I have?, i also had the filter replaced, it runs fine just dosent tell me how much gas i have I have no idea any help would be appreciated

The fact that the gauge ramps up to full should indicate a good connection, even though it then dies. Something fishy here! You DID replace the pump and float assembly as a whole, correct? If not, that may be the issue! The manufactuer of the pump is also critical! Hope you paid good $ for a quality pump,or else you got what you paid for! One can't cut corners here! One HAS to go with the hi-$ pumps from reputible sources,no other way...
