Default Another Fuel Problem 98Blazer (I searched)

Well I just bought my first blazer its a 98 2door. Was driving it one day and noticed it was stumpling at WOT. It also would spit and proceed to cut off when you drove it up slight inclines. Today it just died on me, so I towed it home and suspected the fuel pump. Since I have full power and no lose grounds.

I replaced the pump today. Went to start it and nothing. So I switched the relay under the hood with a different relay of the same type I knew was working. That didnt do the trick. It seems the pump isnt getting any power what so every. I cant hear it when I turn the key on and theres no fuel at all at the check valve behind the TB.

So I joined this site and im asking the experts of the Blazer's

~Thx Ben

Is your security light on in the gauge cluster?

If you jumper across the fuel pump relay to feed +12V power to the pump, does it turn on? If so, does it start?

Same questions that have been asked in just about every topic like this.

Yes. Look at the diagram on the side of the relay and connect the pins which are shown on the diagram as being the switched pins.

So I take your question about the security light to mean that the light is indeed on and remains on. If that is the case, then the ignition switch is the most likely cause. If you turn the key to the RUN position, wait 5 minutes, then attempt to start the truck, will it start?

Lets try to keep this on the forum for everyone's benefit.

Well I replaced the relays today. And got the battery charged. There is no security light on my guages.

I pured some gas in the TB, and it fired right up. Now all I need to do is figure out why power isnt going to my fuel pump.

Im leaning towards a faulty ignition switch.

Did you jumper across the relay to force power to the fuel pump? If not, try that before replacing anything else. If that still does not start the fuel pump, then your problem is in the wiring between the relay and the pump itself.

Specific questions about how to do it?

This post should answer everything you need to know about how to get it done. If not post up again with the specific questions you need answers to.

Fuel pressure/pump Q's 2001 Bravada

Wiring diagrams are the same for the 98+.

Well I did the jumper to the fuel relay. And the thing still doesnt work.
Should I try a new ignition switch?

No. If you had +12V power at the jumper to the fuel pump (test it with a multimeter) and the pump still does not run, then you have a problem with the wiring between the relay and the pump (as I said earlier in this thread).
