Default another problem

I just got my dash back together after replacing the blend door moter in my 99 and the service engine light came on reading code 0740 (torque converter). I know that I'm going to have to take the blazer in to a mechanic to fix this being it's beyond my talents plus I'm burnt out after the blend door issue but I do have a question: I am due for an emissions test soon. Will the code 0740 popping up cause me to fail the test? I would like to know this so I know how soon to get the 0740 problem repaired. please help.
