The past week, my '01 Jimmy has had a tough time starting, takes maybe 5-7 seconds to start sometimes, cranking at normal speed, then eventually kicks over and runs fine. Sometimes it would start first time, but whatever. I was driving to work today when I noticed my 'Security' light was illuminated on my dash for the first time, so after digging through pages of threads about this, I'm under the impression that my ignition switch is the problem and is directlyrelated to the starting problem.

Would anyone else agree/disagree?

 

sounds about right, if you are willing to rip into your dash, you can check the wires and make sure the conections are good. If you have a dmm, you can check the wires (pm for how to do this) for the resistance.
