Default Gauge Light Question - Got another Question

I'm tryin to do the LED Gauge Cluster Upgrade, and I've got a question.
I pulled the gauge cluster out, and removed the light "holders" from the gauge cluster, but i can't get the bulbs out of the little gray "holders".
Is there a trick to getting them out? Or just pull? I don't want to break the lights inside the socket (done that before, and its sucks tryin to get it out)
Whats the trick?

Thanks!!

Those lights are hardwired in. They arent just like any bulb that pulls out they require work to pull them out.

When the bulb is in front of you pull the two brass tabs with needle nose plier, make sure you have a strong grip on the tab but try not to twist brass will break eventually, been there done that.

Default RE: Gauge Light Question

Ok, i've got another question. I got the LED's in (i used 194 inverted LED's) they are kinda dim, i can live with that, but there is a "dull" spot in the gauges. The left side of the speedometer, from like 0 to 50ish is almost not lit at all. Is that a problem with the LED's? Or is it normal to have that dull spot? If its normal is there a way to fix it?

I also used inverted LED's and I also have a dim spot, I would suggest using a brighter LED in that spot such as a 5 led bulb

Default RE: Gauge Light Question

Make sure that you have the plugs back in right. I have a done the LED guage upgrade and have no dim or dull spots. Make sure that the plugs are in right. The light will only work with one polarity. The positive side has to go to positive. If you leave the guage plug'd in but pull it out to where you can get to the back of it you will see that each bulb carrier has a tiny hole in the back of it. You should be able to see the color of whatever color leds you installed coming out of that hole. If not then you have the carrier plugged in wrong and its not on the polarity it needs. So you need to pull that one out and rotate it 180 degrees to get it on the right polarity. Then it should work. When I first did mine i noticed what you said and it was beacause half my lights weren't working because they weren't in right. Hopefully this wasn't all to confusing. Fell free to PM me if you have more ?'s.
