Hi all, I have a werid leak on my 2002 Blazer. About 10 monthsago I noticed low antifreeze. Never noticed an obvious leak. My mechanic did a pressure test, said it was a loose hose clamp, said he fixed it but the leaking persisted. I would smell antifreezeafter driving but could never spot the leak. It appeared to be a slow leak so I kind of got into the habit of checking and refilling every couple of weeks, waiting for warmerweather to look closer thinking maybe it was the waterpump. Other day I notice a small amount of antifreeze on my driveway. Today, topped off the radiator and ran the car with cardboard underneath it. Noticed almost immediatelya constant dripping of antifreeze from the back side of the engine compartment on the passenger side. Stopped the engine and looked underneath. Thedripping antifreezewas kind of coming from somewhere above the starting motor and dripping down it. Could not findtheleak so jacked the car up and took off front passenger side tire inhopes of spottingthe leak. No luck, so I blocked the car and ran the engineand looked while it was running butthis time there was NOdripping.Anyone ever seen this?Thought maybe this was due to the passenger side being jacked up so I lowered the car while it was running but still no more leaking. Around this time I also noticed antifreeze around the thermostat housing but as I ran the engine and watched this area I never saw the amount of fluid as I did when I first ran the engine. Maybe I should mention theengine oil looks fine and the heater hoses going into and out of the firewall look dry. Many thanks in advance!

I had the same thing on my 2002 LS. Dealer wanted to replace intake manifold gasket, but radiator shop said it was thermosat gasket. I went with thermostat gasket replacement and problem went away.

Thanks for the reply. After reviewing several other previous posts and looking further I convinced myself it is the intake manifold gasket leakingand that I'm not up to that job at the moment so will take it to my mechanic. All the posts in the DIY and other areas were very helpful, this is a great site!
