I have a 2001 Blazer LT 4wd.

I flushed radiator and heater core (for 3rd time in last few years due to water sound in dash) over the summer. I have been noticing an antifreeze smell since but could never find a leak. Recently I see just a little antifreeze coming down around the passenger side under engine. It seems to be coming from somewhere above the starter but cant see where the leak originates.

I cant see anything "wet" on top side of engine or on firewall. I have heat but its not really cold out yet either.

Any thoughts where this could be coming from? Thinking maybe heater core but thought that if it leaked it would come inside the cabin.

Thanks and I hope I posted all relevant info.

Oh yeah....I again have the water sound coming from the dash...it went away for awhile after the flush

The noise makes me think that the core is still plugged. Is the coolant smell present from inside the cabin?
As for the external leak, check for a leaking intake manifold gasket or leaking freeze plug or heater hose.

I CANNOT smell the coolant inside the cabin.

I will try to check the other things you suggested tomorrow.

I will let you know if I can find something.
Thanks for replying riddle!

I had that same problem, antifreeze smell, loosing about 2 quarts every 2 weeks of antifreeze, It was 1 of the heater core hoses, not the 1 that goes to the water pump, was the 1 that went to the engine... I let it warm up and then went looking and saw antifreeze puddle. I shut the vehicle off and loosened the clamp and tried to pull the hose off and from the bottom side of the hose it ripped off, so it was leaking on the bottom side of the hose, replaced the hose and all is good now, and it would leak only under pressure, if I backed the radiator cap to the first notch so it would not pressurize I would not loose any antifreeze

Still cant see where the leak comes from. I removed right front tire, put the vehicle on ramps and looked from above.

Anyway did a quick heater core flush and the water sound is gone again. It didnt seemed clogged at all.
