Default Any issues removing a Factory Stereo in a 01 Jimmy?

I hate for my first post here to be a stupid question post, however, I was at a radio shop here in Phoenix and was discussing a possible install of a new deck in my Jimmy (factory sucks) and the guy swears to god that they cannot fully remove my deck that GM tied the ABS Controller into the deck and it must be installed remotely somewhere in the car in order for the ABS controller to work. So I must pay for some long cable and have the radio installed under the seat.

I laughed my *** off at him and said no f'n way. Perhaps I may believe a millimeter of that story if it was a late 80's/early 90s as I've seen some strange things in those years of many different makes, but I don't buy it and said there's no way I'd buy anything from you guys at this point and left. Needless to say I didn't even want them to install it but the story shy'ed me away from spending money there. I searched the net several times and found nothing to substantiate their story. So I am once and for all asking here and if nothing else you can get a good laugh. Is there any Vehicle issues with removing a Stock radio completely from a 01 GMC Jimmy SLE?

Appreciate any positive comments .

Thanks

well...my little brother has a 02 s10..(different but should be similar i would think) and we had no issues at all besides the fact walmart install kits are worthless lol

ive never heard this before about ABS being tapped into the radio...seem like a croc of sh** to me lol but..could be wrong but you could go on search and look at wiring diagrams and pull yours out and look and if anythings different then maybe its true

No issues at all on my 01 Blazer. The ABS thing is nothing more than a myth.

I'd spend my money elsewhere -
THIS

(or similar) is what controls the ABS - it sets the ABS light in the dash, all sensors end up here, and it pulses the brakes

I would agree I would go somewhere else or do it yourself.

We did it in my friends 02 blazer and never had any problems
