Default bad ground?

My car has been stalling a bit lately, at first ihad no cluewhy it did it but now im getting closer. First off, when i turn the ignition to on, without cranking, itusually takes up to 5 seconds before the instrument cluster lights up (airbag, engine symbol, abs, all those), but my radio comes on the instant that i turn the key. I can also crank the engine before the lights come on on the dash(but it wont start obviously). Well i noticed that this is the thing that makes my car shut off occasionally. While driving, all the lights on the dash turn off (and the engine shuts off), the "lights on" reminder starts beeping, but after a few seconds power is back and i can start the car. Im guessing i have a bad ground somewhere, but where should i look? Its a 97LT 4x4 with the 4.3 vortec-

Thanks!

Sounds like a bad ignition switch.

that could be it, cause i can take my key out when the key is in the mode where only your radio, wipers and map lights can be switched on...

I've got the exact same problem(and actually the exact same car!). Did the new ignition switch take care of the problem? I would install one myself but my Haynes manual doesn't have instructions on how to do that. By the ignition switch you mean the wiring harness that costs around 100 bucks? (not the part the key goes into and locks into)

I just had to replace the switch in my Bravada. I had a 2-3 second delay before it would switch everything on, this started all of a sudden two weeks ago. Yes, the switch with the wiring. 97 bucks at Advance Auto, GP Sorenson brand. It's identical to the factory switch, even had the GM logo on it.
