Default Bad Ignition switch or locksmith?

When I bought the 2003 2wd a couple of months ago it had a problem of removing the key once the engine was turned off. It got to the point that at some times I just unhooked the positive cable from the battery. Afterspeaking with the car lot, they agreed to pay to have a new switch installed. That was about two weeks ago. Ever since then on occasion, I can't even get the key to move past the first stage of removal. I have to start it up again and move the car a few feet and turn the wheel just a bit or so, in order to get the key to shut off the engine, but it does come out easier than before.

I have had some issues where until now I was not able to take it back to the locksmith. I don't want to go in there with out having something of an idea of what I could say to him that would not give him the impression that I did not think he knew what he was doing. Is there anything special about replacing these switches that he just might not know about?

It's starting to get a bit cold around here and I don't want to be hooking up a battery cable in 20 deg temp's in the morning.

Many thanks in advance for any ideas/suggestions...

Im not sure whats wrong with your issue but there should be a key release hole under the steering column close to the switch that releases the key in emergency !! I believe you just use a screwdriver..
