bad smell from vent

no wetness or coolant loss at all. pressure stayed good. I am think Freon or maybe exhaust........1SG

There was a TSB a few years ago about that exact thing. Re-start after a short hot soak, windshield fogs up. Only under certain atmospheric conditions though. Mine does it once in a great while too. Bottom line of the TSB..... normal, turn the defroster on and wait for it to clear.

Definitely sounds like a leak at the heater core, odd you aren't losing coolant. Could be a very small leak. Doesn't take much coolant once a vehicle is warmed up to fog the windows up and cause a horrible smell.

When my heater core went I wasn’t sure myself because i lost no antifreeze. But when i pulled it there was no heavy leak, the heatercore looked orange and the fins were soaked with antifreeze.

had the same type of problems smell during start up and my windows would fog up

Something to consider when coolant leaks occur, especially heater cores: Electrolysis in the Cooling System
