Default Bad Spider?

I have a 1995 Blazer LT 4.3L Automatic. I am getting terrible gas mileage, about 12-13 combined city/highway, and sometimes smell gas when I'm in and around my truck. I have just replaced the plugs, wires, cap, rotor, air filter so those things can be ruled out.

After reading around the forums about what the problem could be I suspected the spider as leaking gas so I took off the plenum and had a look. I'm not exactly sure what its supposed to look like in there, but what I found was some small puddles of oil/gas mixture and it smell like gas really strongly when I opened it.

So should I go out and buy a spider assembly?

did you check the fuel pressure regulator? if bad it will keep dumping fuel into the engine.
If it was together you could rent a fuel pressure test kit form auto zone and check the pressure.

this is all the information you need to test the fuel pressure

From the visual clues I see there... all you need to test is get the pump to run while watching to see what happens.

I'm thinking the regulator diaphragm is cracked and there's fuel coming out of the vac port

Just a wild guess of course. wont hurt to have that gauge though, needs checked once repairs are made.

Up to you whether you replace everything or just the regulator if that's all it is.
