I have two issues. My Cruise Control isn't working and I'm throwing these codes.

CO387 unable to complete shift.
Does the VSS on the transfer case (Passenger side) send information for the cruise control and if isn't working the VSS needs to be replaced? So I'm thinking this could also cause issues with the 4LO. I can shift to 4Hi, Auto, but if I try to shift to 4LO I throw the code and not go in, but go back into 2 or Auto or Hi it's fine. Could this be a bad encoder motor?
This is my second new Encoder motor the first I took back 1 month after I got it because it did the same thing. Whats the likely hood of a second Coder motor be bad.

Thats why I think a Bad VSS might cause this.

 

A vss could cause it to not shift into low range, and cruise control problems. It will also give issues with your speedo, and shifting.

 

Currently there are no codes unless I attempt to put it in 4 Lo. If I just do a simple test and unplug the VSS should it throw a code?
