Here are some pics that may help. I think you are only meeting resistance from the o ring around the spider. Pic of the spider is missing the o ring from the groove.

^^ agree. After the plenum is off, carefully remove #6 poppet nozzle from the lower intake manifold. Reconnect the fuel lines to the injector housing. Turn the pump on and check for leaks. Might want to check all nozzles for leakage, but if one is leaking, replace the entire assembly.

Ok, got it all apart and spider assembly looked like it was in a bad house fire. Replaced it with a reman 'd one that a mechanic neighbor got for me. Got it all back together 1/2 hour ago and it instantly starts right up now and idles pretty smooth, but bogs when accelerated and stumbles. I rechecked fuel pressure after new spider install and it goes to 62 when key turns on, then quickly goes to 55ish and stays there. Also now that it will stay running, I see it has some water leaks coming from odd areas. I gave up for today and will dig deeper tomorrow. The leaks I'll find and take appropriate action, but does anyone have any opinions on the bogging when accelerating? Appreciate any good info.

Two notes, P0300 keeps reappearing, and 4wd lights and service light keeps coming on also, if this means anything.

Default Try some'Seafoam

I know it is not a cure all however it is only around$10.00 and it helps keep the fuel system clean. Good job.

The cat may be clogged due to the rich fuel condition; it may get better if driven for awhile and allowed to get up to operating temp....may be. Quick way to check is to pull one of the pre-cat O2 sensors out and see if the bogging-down is still present. This will set a code of course and do not run engine like this for very long as the hot exhaust gases are hitting areas that they are not supposed to and will likely cause damage/fire/melted connectors...etc.

If possible wedge a piece of sheet metal to deflect the hot exhaust gases down.

Just an idea.

Sounds like a plan Lanny! I'll give it a go tomorrow morning. It does feel like it could be a clogged cat.

Bogging could be caused by the FPR or leaky LIM inspect it. I have a 2000 and was the issue. My FPR would leaked down overnite and cause a hard start and code for a misfire, after a hard hard start it would run and start fine hot if it didnt sit to long and leak to much flooding one cylinder.Hook can figure it out.

I believe I've solved the fuel pressure leak down with the new spider assembly, which included a new FPR. Engine starts up immediately now and idles pretty smooth. The LIM is interesting though. I'm wondering if this may be where one of my coolant leaks is coming from. I'm seeing indirectly a leak that looks as if it is starting from up and under front intake under gooseneck, behind water pump, and it's pretty substantial. I took a break from it today, and will check it better tomorrow as well as check cat too.

Lenny, I may take you up on the cat install if this one proves faulty. Thanks guys.
