Default Batt, alt or losing my mind.

I admit i dont' have a boat load of confidence in the truck right now with all the problems i've had in the past months since i got it but the last 4 days of perfect driving have been enjoyable to say the least

One noise i noticed since i had it was a slight metallic noise when i get on the accelerator. It's a high mileage engine so i figured valvetrain noise and didn't worry about it. It hasn't changed but one day i decided to get under the hood and give some throttle to see what it was. From what i can tell i'ts the alternator pulley. I have to remove the belt and spin it to confirm but lately i've noticed a change in my batt meter in the cabin.

Since i've bought the truck it sits just above 14volts, or halfway and stays there. In the past few days it starts out over 14 but after about 15 mins of driving slowly works it's way down to 14(half) and stays there. One day i noticed it move a bit down and up but never stayed below 14.

I know 14volts isn't bad, but it's different then what i was seeing before. I'm a few weeks away from a trip out east of 5000kms and want to nip anything i can before i leave. Should i test the alt and battery at the local part source? Am i just looking for things to go wrong?
