Battery and alternator bad annually
Hey there
i have a 97 blazer and i am a really good observer/detective. My car would not hold a charge, actually would not start if not driven daily. if sat for more than 24+ hours it would not start. I would put my 110 battery charger on start and crank it over when ever an issue. A month passes of this sort of issue and i assumed bad solenoid cause it could not be alternator, cause i replaced the alternator a year earlier, and subsequently the battery as well, it just stopped holding a charge. had it checked at pepboys and they said wayyyy dead.
I assumed bad solenoid, cause car would stay running when cable disconnected, and never and issue at night driving with the lights on (no battery gauge flicker)... a week or so later the volt meter at night started to flicker when lights turned on(meter down) , stereo off (meter up) ect.
replaced the alternator and charged the car driving, seemed to be fine a few days then problem persisted. battery will not hold charge again. HOW can the batterty and the alternator go bad annually similarly?? obviously there is another problem.... electrical ? i recently found out the seriousness of ground issues at my home (10years of weird electrical issues and electrical components going bad prematurely due to bad ground issues) have spent a year or two fixing all home wiring solving that problem....
Could this be the same thing in my car?? only thing new electrical was a hitch, stereo with sirius sat added (circuit city)... how do i figure out why car having issues
thanks
