Default battery sparking w/ no power

Just a quick question: I just finished hooking up my new system but im not quite ready to hook up to the battery yet. When i took the + side off, it is sparking. But i looked the truck over and everything is off/closed. Is this just another one of GM's crazy security things?

Yah some arch would be normal, the computer wants to get power and other powered when off items also want power like remote door lock control reciever, clock/radio, and so on.

Don't worry about it, I've disconnected my battery many times, and it almost never fails when I reconnect the positive cable, there's always a spark. Just do it quickly and you'll be fine. Just don't smoke or have open flame around the battery.
