Below 3/4 of a tank...
Hi guys:
This is my first post and a hearty hello to everyone!
I have a 2002 Blazer that otherwise runs great. My problem is that when the tank is full and I crank the engine, it starts right up. However, when it gets lower than about 3/4, I can crank it and it won't start until I stop cranking and crank it again then it will start right up. I have had this problem for about 3 years now. I have just gotten used to cranking it once for three seconds, letting it go, and then cranking again until it starts about a second later. May I have thoughts on this problem?
Thanks for any assistance!
Chris

My first question is how accurate is your fuel gauge? Your sending unit is in the tank, and sometimes they get some build up that keeps them from moving and that would make your fuel gauge misread, however I don't think that would be the problem. I would still check though.
I'm not too sure about why your truck starts right up on full, but not at 3/4. I would try replacing the fuel filter and run some seafoam or some techron in the fuel and see if it improves anything.

Have you tested the fuel pressure to make sure that it is coming up to the proper pressure (>55psi) and that it doesn't leak down more than a few psi after the pump shuts off?
