blazer died suddenly...
OK,
I'm just starting some troubleshooting after my blazer (1998 4.3 V6 TBI) died suddenly while driving. No warning, nothing.
Got it in my garage, and checked the codes. No faults. I'm assuming it could be a fuel pump as I've already replaced 3 in the last 10+ years or so. I know that it's a problem with the 2nd Gen S-10/Blazer.
I threw a fuel pressure gauge on the fuel rail. When I turned the key to the "ON" position, I got about 55 psi, give or take.
I let it sit on there for approximately 10 minutes and it dropped to about 40 psi. So I know it's leaking somewhere...
Is this a regulator problem more than a pump problem? I don't want to "shoot from the hip" and replace parts that don't need to be replaced.
Advice and/or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Larry
