Blazer dual piston caliper swap!

The pads are a little bigger, not a whole lot. Like 1inch total length and about the same width. I'm not sure if the rotors are different. If they are, they are relatively close. I'll update you guys when I swap them.

I haven't had the time to swap them yet, but I did have time to measure the rotors. The rotors on a 98+ have a 1/4 inch larger radius. The pads have almost the same width. But, that could be because of the cheap pads on the 98.

I am impressed with the dual piston caliper swap. It reminds me of Chris Fix on YouTube who added a second caliper onto one of his vehicles. I don't remember which one-- he has several cars and at least one truck.

I like the Chris Fix youtube series of auto fix video's although he doesn't have a Blazer or Jimmy in any of his videos as far as I know. His dual rear brake calipers install was on a 1998 Mustang he calls the Driftstang. I have to say it is a nice job and the same engineering could be used on a GM SUV. Take a look here.

Before I install an extra set of calipers on the back, I'll probably just upgrade the rotors and pads like I did for the front last year when I installed cyro-treated slotted rotors with directional vanes for better cooling along with upgraded pads.
