What's the deal? Back in post #4 you said you replaced the crankshaft position sensor. Now in post #10 it's "busted"?

Default This Sounds Like exactly what happened to my blazer

Anyway what looks like happened is the harmonic balancer outer ring thing came off cracked the timing chain cover and busted the crankshaft sensor in the process.

Already did a cheap fix and put on a new cover and sensor, but of course I tried to leave the oil pan on, but alas it runs now but leaks oil like a sieve

I guess I'll start looking into pulling the engine.

Thanks again for the help

Hey just curious cuz this sounds about like what happened to my blazer. 02 rwd 4.3 4dr. was driving turned went to hit gas. died. wouldn’t start. fuel pump and filter good. was not getting spark. side note. my obd2 port wasnt getting power so my scanner wouldnt work. turns out its a fuse. the cigarette lighter fuse. ****ing weird. anyway we pulled disto cap and checked to see if it would rotate it did so chain was fine. when we got the scanner working 2 codes po341 and po335 crank and camshaft sensors. hopped underneath to find crankshaft sensor was just hanging closer look weird metal cylinder/circle was loose and hanging. 2 times before it died we had heard a rattling on start up. its that. so we looked closer and sensor was busted so we looked closer and what me and my buddy were calling the crankshaft sensor housing now sounds like the timing chain cover if the sensor goes into the timing chain cover that’s exactly what happened to mine. 97k miles. it sounds like such a odd thing to happen geice
