Default Blazer wants to die when coming to a stop

Hey everyone,

I have a 1997 blazer and I just recently replaced the brake booster in my truck. The brakes work great now, but a few days after the fix, my truck just gave me another issue. When I come to a stop (when the engine is warm or cold), the truck wants to die and the RPM gauge goes down. And occasionally the truck has issues accelerating after this issue occurs. It happens fairly often when coming to a stop. Besides that, the truck starts great, but now I'm stuck with this crap. Any help or advice would be appreciated...Thanks.

Default Response....

I had just taken a trip to Napa because my service engine light finally came on. It read that the 'engine is too lean', meaning that it's possibly the fuel system. Any idea what part? The fuel pump is about 20,000 miles old....I can't remember the last time I've changed the fuel filter (car has 166,000 miles on it) so that might be a possibility??? Does anyone know the symptoms of a bad injector?

I replaced the belt and battery a couple weeks ago...

Thanks.

When I come to a stop (warm or cold engine), the car wants to die each time consistently. Once accelerating from stop, the car drives just fine with no signs of dieing....This crap is starting to get on my nerves!!!

Since this problem started after replacing the brake booster, and you are running lean I would suspect a vacuum leak. I would check the brake booster hose for cracks or a bad connection. I don't think you have a problem with fuel delivery.
